Hi guys,

As it was my 21st last week I've got the money now to afford my new build.

Already got an Asus GTX480 in the sale 2 weeks ago :) Still undecided on what case to buy so made a thread for that here -
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18251764

Here is the rest of the build I have put together.

Any thoughts/suggestions?
Will it all fit together and work properly?
What do you think of it - ie. is it a decent fast setup?

Nice setup there. What are you going to be using it for? If its solely gaming then i'd just go for 4Gb of RAM really.
All other components look good. Do you not need a PSU though?

As for your case the Coolermaster Haf X case now comes with front USB 3.0 but it simply uses a through cable which plugs in the USB 3.0 slots in the back of your motherboard. Pretty pointless IMO accept for ease of access. But if you bought a USB 3.0 PCI card with internet connectors it might work out for you?

Looks like a promising set up.

Good luck with your first build. Having seen you forum sig and completing my first build a few days ago, I know how you feel.

Any plans to OC or will she remain 'tinker' free?

Yeah I need a PSU. Please spec me one.

And I'm a web developer, use many apps at the same time including large photshop files, just thought I'd get 8GB as its on offer and to future proof!

Fully modular means that it comes with no cables attached at all - you use only the cables you want.
As you can see with the Antec:
TPN_cablemanage.jpg

It has its power cables attached so they can't be removed.

That's what I've got so far

That HDD is overpriced and sloooooo.....Zzzz Zzzzz....

Swap it out for this - the fastest mechanical HDD around.

I'm also slightly worried about your cooler fouling your ram (due to its high heatsinks), for that reason I would swap that out for some equally specced GeIL 1600MHz stuff.

Rest looks good to me! :)

Swapped the HDD.

The RAM you just specced has CAS9 timings. The one I had listed is CAS8.

Will it make a difference?

Nah, not one you'll notice.

You'd need a benchmark program to tell!

Besides, assume you'll be overclocking you can change the timings to CAS8 ;)

Unfortunately yes, because its one of the coolest looking sets of RAM I have ever seen! :p

Although tbh with you, it offers nothing over the GeIL except the price on TWO (This Week Only).
