Will the PSU be ok? Any other advice?

It's a sound all round rig for the budget, but as highlighted above, if it's to replace the rig in your sig, and if it’s primary use is for gaming then you would 'probably' benefit more by sticking in a 5850/70 and perhaps chucking in an SSD for the luxurious fun of it.

Plus, if you needed a PSU you could buy the 650 Corsair as it would run quieter (under less load) and would still be powerful enough for future upgrades/new build.
 
Thanks. Nah it's not for me. A mates brother who wants to build his own so i'll be helping out and stuff.

He's the typical 'clicks on the most expensive thing' so i had to persuade him not to buy a £130 case which was the most expensive thing in the basket at the time lol. And a 4890, and the Noctua cpu cooler <- £60! :eek:
 
I was considering the 300 but because he isn't going to use a modular psu i thought that would be better. Any other one's around the same price or cheaper with space inbetween the mobo plate and side panel for hiding cables?
I don't think the scout looks that bad?
