Finally after a bit of playing about I have been able to tweak my Q6600 VID: 1.2500 G0 to 3.2Ghz as you can see. Next going to try and get it to 3.6Ghz.

3.2 is easy :P. But good luck to 3.6GHZ, max I could reach on "auto" was 3.5GHz, and i think the only thing hindering me was voltage, I probably had to push it up slightly

Yer I had it on 3Ghz for a while was trying to get it to 3.6Ghz this morning and was getting frustrated, I so nearly gave up for today, but I thought what the hell one last attempt at 3.2Ghz. Here are my settings for 3.2Ghz if some nice person out there would like to give me a heads up on how I could get it to 3.4Ghz or 3.6Ghz that would be very welcome help.

Kit information:-

I have a p5k3 deluxe (p35 w/ ddr3) and Q6600 at home, but I've never overclocked on true manual settings. What cooler are you using ? (Don't know if heat causes instability)

I'd leave the ram settings to auto, and play with the CPU voltage first, then change ram timings/voltage etc

Cheers for the information I'm currently trying to find out if 360x9 vcore 1.4250 is stable or not currently running prime, though its making a strange high pitched noise every so often.

mines an e6600 dual core 2.44 @ stock like yours accept you got 2 more cores and mines at 385 x9 with 1.4675 v core. 3.46ghz

stable with every test, you have better cooler than me so you should be ok.

with yours being a newer better chip you should get 3.5-3.6 at a push

Its looking stable 4 hours running prime95 and its still going strong, temps are not that bad either 46C maximum.

*** EDIT ***

Scratch that it just crashed.

Making me wonder, my friend has a q6600 system. I've tryed overclocking it in the past but the board doesnt seem to wanna do 400fsb ever.

Kinda get stuck with it at about 2.8 to 3ghz.. wanting 3.2 or 3.4 really

It runs hot too, but wont even post at the higher settings.

GA-965p-DQ6 board...
