Not due out for a while yet, but sounds awesome, no soloing except crafting, death penalty, no instancing, no mini maps or hand holding. I'm sick of being able to solo to level cap in mmorpgs, ruined the genre for me, going into dungeons for 5 mins no one speaks and is gone, never to be seen again once the dungeon ends, boring. If Saga of Lucimia delivers, could be epic!

Could be interesting, just depends on the group requirement. 8 is a large number, can a group of 3 get things done? Even in Everquest 1 which was very group orientated, there were things smal groups could do.

Looks like overland zones will be balenced for 3-4 people while the dungeons will need 8.

This , no matter what developers intend these days people always find a way round to ruin things for other players

The only way this will fail is if the developers dont stick to their original vision and start adding a lot of solo content if the game doesnt do as well as they hoped and start bowing to a vocal minority. The game looks pretty bland and generic if not for the hardcore old skool group aspect so if they take that away they will probably lose more players than they gain.

I was never a fan of corpse collecting death penalty i admit but ill deal with it. I always liked ffxis death penalty, lose 10% of exp needed to next level, also able to level down, if someone raises you, you gain a % of that xp back depending on raise tier and are weakened for 5 mins to the point you cant do anything! If no one around to raise you had to go back to your home point which were pretty sparse and could be miles away!

The forum warriors. Many a game is killed because they have an idea then cave to the whining of 'oh death penalty is too hard. It sucks not being able to solo to max, XYZ sucks, this should be added...' and before you know it a game has changed from what it set out to be into what they think the masses want (and sadly, it is what the masses want, but the fanbase who were interested get screwed).
Rather than these people accepting that a game is not for them they insist on moaning to get changes made.

looking at this it looks like forum warriors wont be an issue lol

At the end of the day, we aren’t building the game for the ADD generation of players who want their first-place medals for simply existing. Those players can crawl back down their holes of single player games masquerading as MMORPGs, and keep on bragging about their 15 minute “hard mode” dungeon runs.

Seriously. **** off. You aren’t our target audience, and we have zero inclination to change your mind. We’re too busy building our game, interacting with the people who matter to us: our backers and our community.
