Hey all,

Was listening to an old MacBreak podcast last night when one of the guys (Leo) suggested checking out Inquisitor for Safari.

It's a plug in that gives you a spotlight-like search from within the web browser. Anyway, I checked it out and LOVED IT :D

I suggest you try it out if you like using Safari.. then again, if you don't it could be enough to persuade you to swap!

I wouldn't say it's a reason to use safari, but it's certainly nice. does it work with the beta? I LOVE how the cmd-f find function works in that!

I must admit, I do like to use safari every now and again, but firefox just has brilliant functionality.

ooh, I remember why I stopped using it - cookie and session handling was terrible!

Hmmm... "imagefap" :eek: lol

appologies for the childish observation but after two Krispy Kremes I'm suffering from a sugar rush..

For those who like using Firefox on the Mac I suggest going over to http://www.tweakguides.com/Firefox_8.html (read from this page on)

I've ALWAYS modded the about:config file and it is much much faster than stock settings :)

Definately worth a look if you're set on using Firefox and want some free speed.

My tweaked settings include all the following;

network.http.xxxx (there's a good 7 or 8 to tweak here)
network.prefetch=false
nglayout.initialpaint.delay (you need to add this integer manually but it's soo good when you see what it does)
browser.display.imageplaceholders = false

I just never got on with it for one reason or another.. WHY WON'T IT OPEN NEW LINKS IN TABS?!! (I've told it to!)

Also, check out http://pimpmysafari.com for other sweet add-ons :D

The only thing I haven't managed to hack back on in Leopard Safari so far is opening of _blank links in a new tab rather than a new window. I've installed plugins that list it as an option but it doesn't seem to want to work :(
