I finally splashed out and bought a gamecube bundle (RES4) and a GameCube 59 Slot Memory Card to give me something to keep me occupied through the draught of pc games. I've not had a console since the early days of the N64 so I'm looking forward to checking out some good titles.I've ordered myself a few games too:-

Zelda windwalker
Metroid Prime
Eternal Darkness

any others I should check out as I'm completely out of touch with quality Gamecube titles. I prefer FPS's , Rpg's and will give platform games another go (it's been ages since playing one) although I'm not too keen on driving games. This will also be for single player gaming only as I have no mates :p
Is there anything I need with regards to hardware to get the best out of the gamecube. I've invested in a Official GameCube RGB Scart to plug into my 32" crt , but, is there anything else I'll need?

thanks

Pikmin and Pikmin 2
Probably 2 of the most addictive and original games your likely to play on the Gamecube.Probably not to everyones taste, but i think they are great games.

Super Monkey Ball (not the rather average sequal) is probably my most played GC game, and can be found for cheap these days. Insanely addictive and crazy stuff.

Resident Evil 4 is superb (you must buy this one :)), and the remake of the orginal is very good too.

Tales of Symphonia is a very good epic, old school rpg, and one of the best on the GC.

As for accessories, wavebirds are the original 360 wireless pads. MS must have had a look inside one of them to see how the magic happens.

Metroid 2 is very good.
Baiten Kaitos is meant to be a good rpg.
Double Dash
Luigi's mansion - very cheap, and original game.

A lot of the good ones have been said, Its hard to think when put on the spot.

hey hawklord,

some good ones suggested so far.

I know you said you aint keen on driving games but you gotta try MarioKart ;)

The Mario party series is also very entertaining.

Viewtiful joe is ment to be good, I've not played it yet, but picked it up in game yesterday for 3.99 new in the sale.

Double Dash is awful. :o

I'd sooner recommend the greatness that is F-Zero GX if you wanted a driving game, instead of the dirty, sacrilege-to-a-great-series, already-wiped-from-my-memory, let-down of MK DD.

Also, if you've never played it on the Dreamcast, try and get Ikaruga, one of the hardest games ever, but also damn good fun.

Hey divine I suggested it :p

I think its a let down to mario kart but still a great game if you forget its menna be a mario kart.

Id really take burnout 2 over fzero though, I never got into f zero properly.

Ikaruga though is great, especially if you can spin you tv on its side to get maximum viewing space.

It aint that bad lol, fair does its not a scratch on the original but hey.

Ikarugi is indeed a memmoth game, whack it on the hardest setting ;)

Just been playin viewtifull joe for a while and its pretty cool just got the slow down and speed up skills, its geat slowin things down and mashing a few baddies then speeding up across the map to find more :D

Hmm, never did get on with burnout something just didnt feel right, much like PGR2 everyone raves about but tbh I thought it was a bit poo, sluggish controls and looked as if it were running to slow.

TRY being the operative word, I've been looking for the damned thing nigh on a year now, I have the dreamcast version, but I really want to play it with a comfortable controller :D

Another vote for MK: Double Dash - not quite as good as others in the MK series, but still great multiplayer fun. The wife really enjoyed Luigi's Mansion as well. We both hated Mario Sunshine :)
