after having some trouble before... I've finally got my 955 stable at a low 3.8GHz

I have seen others use 20 multipliers and lower buses but I couldn't seem to get anything earlier when I was try for 4.0GHz :(

didn't go beyond 1.5v and maybe that was all I needed but the red colours put me off.

I don't like this crosshair's settings though, these too many noob settings about that I have to change before seeing numbers. my 775 socket was much easier to overclock.

everything looking alright?

p.s idle temp's are cpu 32, nb 35, sb34 degrees on idle. doesn't go above 38 degrees on load

in all honesty I don't know how to use prime95.

I've been using this as normal since 21:30 and it's still running. been playing l4d2 for a good hour.

well I got close to 4.0GHz earlier but I think I was running off 1.55 volts which I wasn't too happy about. I can get some stability off multipliers up to 20x but nothing over.

doesn't seem that many people have actually overclocked this cpu by changing the bus, most have simply just changed the multiplier and saying that most say they've reached 3.8 on stock voltage which I find it hard to believe.

tried a different overclock to the above with 200x 19 = 3813MHz @ 1.450v

Other than increasing voltage I can't seem to get anything from just changing the bus

:(

ideas?
