First you say this....

Then this..

A little confusing.;)

He obviously wants the computer now but hasn't got enough money for a better card.

Why don't you buy an q6600 and save yourself the £50 over the Q9300, then put that extra money towards buying a better GPU like an 8800GT :)

I've spoken to Freeman and he wants something better than the 8800GT (e.g. a 9800GX2+) which he'll buy at a later date. He wants to buy this computer ASAP as his current one is very unreliable & he needs it for his final major project at college. Even if he saved the £50 and got the Q6600 he still wouldn't be able to get the 8800GT so he'd be better off getting the 3650 or the 8600GT for now & buying something way better later.

I've seen the 3650 been recommended a few times over the 8600GT now. :)

Just gonna throw in another question for Freeman here as I know what he wants the computer for.

The motherboard: is the P35-DS4 still one of the most decent boards out (I have the DS4 myself and it's been brilliant which is why I recommended it to Freeman to start with), or would something in the x38/x48 range be better? (bearing in mind he most likely won't overclock)

[Edit]
It seems the P35-DS4 has been replaced with the EP35-DS4 now... anyone know the difference?
