Hi there

Some of you may remember my thread where a deer killed my MK6 Escort?

Well I've finally got car to replace it on Thur - It's a 1.8SL Golf, nothing too fancy but its tidy enough and should hopefully be reliable enough for my 20odd mile commute to my new job on Mon. Here's a few pics:

It came with a years MOT and six months tax - perhaps I'm being a fussy sod but the only fault i've got with it so far was the previous owner was a smoker - three air freshners and i can still smell stale cigarettes

I'll give it a good valet and clay next weekend weather permitting :)

Very nice indeed. My friend has a P reg Golf and it's the most dependable thing he's ever owned, well played! Nightmare about the smell of fags though, it'll never shift :(

I think you can get these stink bomb things you let off in the car with the AC/Blowers running and all the windows shut. They are meant to get rid of smells etc...

looks like a nice tidy example, don't listen to the folk who don't know what they're talking about with car smells - a good hydro misting removes all odours completely

Nice buy. Love Golfs myself and that looks immaculate.

You could try Neutrol air freshner / fabric cleaner on the seats / roof as thats where the nasty niffs will be.

Nowt wrong with a smokers car, I had no problem selling mine. I've got no problem buying one.
if you're that fussed baking soda the hell out of it, cover the seats in plastic for a week so it's drivable. Then hoover.
All smell will be gone.
