Know im late to the game, but today i got my first steam deck 
its the 1tb oled model and im loving it so far, only tried 2 games from my library on it at the moment, dirt rally and spiderman miles morales.
Cant believe how well dirt plays on this thing, ive locked fps to 60 and dirt never drops below this, its a steady 60fps solid, spiderman is harder to run and goes from 30fps to 45fps but i havent changed any settings at all
just booted the games up and played, both play VERY smoothly.
The screen is beautiful, to me it looks better than the switch oled screen, colours pop and brightness is great.
Why didnt i do this sooner lol might try a little emulation on it at some point also, will mainly use it for my single player story games that i havent completed or touched.
