Finally got Downsampling to work on my AMD card!

You should mate... Just been having a blast on Bioshock infinite at 2560x1440 @75hz and it looks stunning. Aslong as you follow exactly what that guide says you shouldn't go wrong.

Yeah that's the reason I wanted it too. Not many games have the option and it makes a huge difference in image quality.
Tomb raider at 1440p looks and runs great on a 1080p screen. Getting about 60fps on it with 2x SSAA and downsampling together.

It basically let's you add custom resolutions to your monitor.. So if you have a 1080p monitor like me you can add higher resolutions.. For example I'm gaming at 1440p now as the gpu Downs amples that to fit your screen so every thing looks so much sharper like your really gaming at 2560x1440 on a 1080p screen.

It's definitely not a placebo effect you can easily see just how much sharper everything looks. I can't imagine it's much difference than actually having a 1440p monitor

Turn up resolution scale in bf4 and you will see exactly what it does.

does it work with cat/14.2?

Yeah... That's what I'm using.. Just make sure you follow the instructions and it will work.
You don't need java installed. Make sure on monitor settings you untick the hide refresh rates your monitor doesn't support as well.

You mean under screen resolution... Advanced settings...monitor... then untick hide modes that this monitor cannot display?

hmmm not sure... Under mine it lets me untick it... Just make sure you install the modded monitor driver before you do anything then just follow every step of the instructions listed in the link I gave... Once I did all that it came up with windows does not support this resolution or something like that but once I unticked that box it worked perfectly and I could change to 1440p on my desktop and in games.
Make sure enable GPU scaling in the CCC isn't ticked also.

This is mine... as you can see... there is the custom 1440p res and the untick modes isn't greyed out..

The CRU thing never worked for me. I would always get signal out of range but that Guru 3d method that I posted worked fine and everything definatly looks so much sharper. Reguarding the blurry text ... In game it looks very sharp to me and I wouldn't use 1440p on my desktop anyway as I much prefere the 144hz for desktop stuff.

With a 144hz Monitor what do you think is the highest HZ I can get at 1440p res?
I have it set to 75 at the moment but im wondering what the highest is that will work on my BenQ 144hz monitor.

Your welcome... I tried it myself too using that but always got signal out of range but gave up in the end but the modded monitor driver made it work like a charm and im using it in every game now and it looks great. No need to use any aa also.
Running it at 1530p in crysis 3 looks stunning and runs better since I don't need to add any aa.
Like you I just use 1080p @144hz on desktop and 1530p @75hz in games.

You should try cranking it up to 1530p. Didn't effect frame rate much and looks a little better aswell..
Saints row 4 actually feels like a different game compared to when I played it. I don't ever remember it looking as good as it does at that res anyway.

I haven't tried a higher res since he only gave the numbers for those 2 on that link I posted... I don't know the numbers for any different resolutions and don't want to mess anything up by guessing lol.
f I new what to change then id give it a try.
Since you can downsample in BF4 from 4k I don't see why that wouldn't work in other games if you can get the right numbers to add that.

For example...

1920x1080 @ 2720x1530

Width = A0 0A
Height = FA 05
HTotal = 20 08
HSyncStart = 30
HSyncWidth = 20
VTotal = 57 04
VDisplay = 38 04
VSyncWidth = 05
PixelClock = E0 22 02

that's the numbers for 1530p....but how do we work out the numbers for a higher res...

Nevermind I found them....

Is it the same thing though? I remember trying this ages ago and could never get it to work.. That could have been because my monitor driver wasn't modded though.

How about 4k? have you tried that and had any issues?
I have 1440p working already through the other method but im curious to try 4k res aswell.

I just tried 4k with CRU... and it worked... at 30hz anyway. Anything higher and it wont show up. IM using a 144hz BenQ monitor and it worked great in bioshock... looks amazing but of course its not really that fun to actually play it at 30hz.

What would happen if you set 1440p at a hz that it wouldn't accept because when I tried it with 120hz it worked...didn't think it would but I was still able to run that res @120hz
