Finally got GTA IV..

Had no frame rate issues on my 360 when I drove around town and I DID go looking for them. However I did notice frame rates dropping into the 20's during explosion heavy combat scenes - especially in L&D.

Great game, crap missions and characters though (apart from badman and bennie). Car handling was simply what made the game for me.

Same here.

Never had issues that made the game unplayable.

I wasn't aware of that! Is this a recent addition as I'm sure I used to need a net connection to play single player games like Half Life.

It's been that way for literally years. Steam has an offline mode. You need your games to be 100% updated then you can select offline mode and play your games as much as you like without connecting to the internet.

Actually, I don't think I've tried playing a single player steam game since HL1...

Sorry for going off topic, I'll leave it there :)

Great game, but even with an aging pc like mine I was happier with it on my PC than xbox. and its only a tenner on PC :)

I'ver really noticed the PC thing lately. My brother has a decent machine, and uses his 360 pad on it. He has GOW, Mass effect, Last remnants and fallout 3. All run better than on 360, the last 3 look better on PC.

It's really made me wonder about my 360 and whether i'm actually going to need it soon lol
