Finally got my 360 linked with my Xp PC but...

...I wont access the video folder for some reason.

I've added 3 folders to the Media Connect software, Music, Pics and Video.

The music and pics work fine but the video folder is always 'empty' according to the 360.

I have loads of files in there of different types but it wont seem to pic any up. Not even the HD wmv from the windows HDwmv site.

Any ideas?

You can only access mp3 and pictures with XP, to be able to access Video files you need Windows Media Center 2005.

As posted, you can only stream video from a Windows Media Center PC. This is well discussed and documented.

Not sure discussion of playing porn is quite necessary though, given the family nature of this forum.

Trick it how? trick XP to act as a media center? trick media center into playing avi files?

There are a few ways to make your divx / avi files play on y our xbox using Media Center 2005 which involve re-encoding the files to wmv format.

As for spoofing XP SP2 into believeing its Media Center 2005 thats a no no im afraid.

Has anyone noticed how much of a resource hog the windows media connect software is....Eats up RAM on my system. PITA!
