After about 5 years (at least, probably a lot longer) of owning an LG 19" monitor @ 1280x1024, I made a spontaneous purchase today of a 2nd hand Iiyama E2607WS 26" @ 1920x1200. A real treat for me, and it almost seems TOO big at present as a lot of websites don't seem setup too well for widescreen.

Anyway... it's very nice, and should hopefully see me good for a fair few years. Very good picture quality, and looking forward to setting it up properly :)

Only trouble now is, I'll have to upgrade the 3870 to something a little bit better d'oh! (And that ain't cheap in the current market, but at least my wife as hinted that I may be able to do that as well).

And in typical fashion when I have something new, and I actually tell someone about it...... just noticed a dead pixel. d'oh!

No RMA, I bought it 2nd hand from a shop. I could take it back today, but I like the monitor, and prob won't get another as good for the price. Choices choices, lol. I did try massaging the pixel btw, but only for a short time.

Kinda decided to keep it. It's a good deal and 1 pixel ain't killer as will soon get used to it. Lovely monitor IMO, even though it is TN based panel. No ghosting that i can detect! Hopefully being 2ms (alledgely) I will even be able to improve my gaming scores lol.

EDIT: It's not in a majorly part of the screen anyway.. was just a shock to see it.. anyway... I sold my GT28R and Walbro 255 and used part of the cash to get this and was an impulsive purchase so I shouldn't complain lol. Only bad part is that I'm likely looking at having to spend about £200 to get decent performance/visuals for the monitor hehe. Oh well.. life is hard ;) Let's hope the exchange rate improves so 5850's come down as I just know I won't be happy with a 5770.
