Im a happy man!

Although I do have an old maps version which I need to update. But apart from that all is dandy, just need to test it on the open roads now! :)

Anyone else got this working yet?

keep up ;) You can't get updates for that version of tomtom anymore :( I'm looking into buying route66 for my next phone (omnia HD)

Its not bad, and yes it is a hack, but it works, im still not too keen on the time it takes to lock onto satallites though, its weird, sometimes it can take 1 minute, sometimes it can take 5, even if im in the same place (from cold).

I think im still going to buy myself a bluetooth reciever as I can use this on my PDA too :)

I prefer my Garmin Mobile XT over tomtom on my N95. Just a personal preference..

Iv never really tried it, wouldnt mind a go though. Im not too fussed as my N95 is only a backup device, TomTom runs flawlessly on my PDA but I don't always carry it around.

Used to use TomTom 6 on my WinMo device, used it cause i had to, wildy varying lock times, crap refresh rates (thought it was the device), ancient maps.

TomTom 7 was pretty much the same, no noticeable changes on the maps.

iGO8 on the other hand, up-to-date maps, amazing lock times (by the time the program has started), constant refresh, very nice GUI :D

This I can confirm, but its not by a huge amount. Lets hope the newer gen's of mobiles have the Sirf Star III chip

would you say its enough to effect your ability to rely on it though? Obviously your a fool if you just zombie your way around places taking turns when it tells you. But if you dont know where your going you can miss turns quite easly if its lagging behind.

Not hugely no.most of the time its pretty much spot on.but there are some rare occations where i might lag back 10-25meters or so.as for the refresh rate its very good.pretty much the same as my pda. Al good.

Been using this for months now with the internal GPS, I find it excellent :)

I use it frequently for work and don't find the lag noticable at all.

The setup is a bit tricky to get your head around but easy once you know how.
