I've finally hit the 4.50GHz on my 3570k:D It's taken nearly 6 weeks, but today I hit the magical configuration that allows my system to pass Prime95. I ran it for over 2hr 45mins and never hit higher than 75c Max( Lowest 57c) until when I closed Prime. I had little to do either, After following several guides, I could never get it to 45 without having to go over 1.325v which I didnt like, so today I started at 40 and eventually hit 45 with an Offset of +120/ Auto LLC/ ASUS Optimed CPU Phaze/ Auto Overvoltage/ And Spread Spectrum disabled, in turn runs at 1.256V Full Load, and 1.080V Idle

Noctua Performance Cooler, and Fans on Standard in a Corsair 550R case.

Great temps for air! :D Good work. :)

1.25V is the same as my new 3570K. :) Which is a 1.170V VID.

My old 3570K was a 1.190V VID and needed 1.28V for 4.5GHz.

You can manually tweak it, I disable overvoltage, and set LLC to turbo with offset of 0. :) It depends on each chip though, some won't idle well with low voltage, my old chip needd +0.090V offset so I had to lower my Vcore LLC to Low to compensate.

You could maybe try my settings? :) But we do have different boards.

Vcore LLC Turbo
DRAM LLC Extreme (to keep the voltage constant)
VTT Standard (1.050V set) is 1.060V in windows.
PLL Voltage is 1.500V down from the stock 1.800V

Offset 0.000V (Try up to +0.030V but with this lower the LLC until you find the 1.25V at load) +120 seems quite high for a chip that can be stable at 1.25V.

Does ASUS have a tool to lower the LLC's in windows? I play around with mine using Gigabyte's 3DPower tool.

My ram is just set to be stable at 2133MHz.

Nothing wrong with your settings, just the 1.30V spike in hardware monitor would make me want to fine tune it, to get a constant 1.25V like I have now. Mine is minimum 0.86V max 1.25V.

Well done! Are you going to run prime for any longer to see if it's 24 hr stable or was 2:45 your goal?

I found that when overclocking, something could be under 100% cpu load for long periods, and still fail when the load changed on the gpus - I do folding so my machines are on 24/7 and sometimes when I gamed it would fall over. Rarely, but it'd happen...

Brian, My ASUS P8Z77-V LX limits me in BIOS to Alter the PLL Voltage it has 2 settings, Auto and +0.010v and I cant figure out if theres another section on this board to change it, If I press the +/- keys to lower or raise it, it switches back and forth between Auto and the pre-configured 0.010v which makes me think, is this typical off this board, or is there another way to change the PLL Voltage? Also the minimum offset for this board is 0.005v 0.000 automatically sets at 0.005v

Also I ran it overnight, and for 5 hours today, and each time i get this on worker 2

Your overclock simply isn't stable. Using any of the power saving features requires a lot of fine tuning to get a stable overclock when you go above ~4.2ghz. Even then you can't be 100% sure of stability unless you've purposely overvolted by a significant amount.
