I've finally managed to get a MAC from TT after trying for over a year. Admittedly they weren't billing me so I had free internet but they refused point blank to admit I was with them (Internet worked fine, if a little slow and intermittent). After numerous calls and letters I threw the towel in and complained to OFCOM and had a MAC within a week.

No there's no purpose to this thread but I'm just happy to finally break free from this total rabble of a company (I was with another provider that TT took over). I will never, ever, buy any product from them.

Now to get fibre and get into the modern internet age again :)

Lets hope you don't get a surprise bill from Talk Talk. Congrats though on being finally free.

I had a similar issue with Talk Talk a few years back. They were even threatening me with bailiffs. Yet when I called them they didn't have a friggin clue what was going on.

They had somehow managed to tie two accounts to the same address when I changed number. So I was paying regularly by DD to the live account, however the 'dead' account that nobody seemed to be aware of went left unpaid. After a year of no payments, some sort of alarm must have gone off somewhere and they send me a threatening letter out of the blue.

Took months to sort out.... never again!

Talk-Talk and Three, the worst customer service I have EVER experienced.

I'm fully bracing myself for a large bill but if it does happen then it's only money I would have had to pay them anyway so I'm ok with paying it.

In my case there was a TT marker on my line, my internet worked fine, yet when I phoned up to find out why they weren't charging me then the retail part of the group told me I was with business and business side told me I was with retail. Neither could find me on their system. One of their guys checked my line, found a TT marker and then asked me how that had happened.

When I wrote to them with my name, address and line number they kept bouncing the letter back telling me I had to give them my customer number before they could investigate (I never received a customer number when they took over my line).

Awful company.

We switched to them last year and have found them OK. Admittedly I haven't needed to contact customer service for anything.
