A bit over due, Ive finished or more or less my TEC setup. :D
Spec:

226Watt Peltier
Maze4 TEc block
PA120.3 with 3 panaflow fans @ 7v
danger den 12v DDC pump
6800gt = 50C due to hot water being pumped over it.

I will post pics first and then ask a few more questions.

This was testing my tec setup on my old Hiper PSU - I know its frowned on doing it this way but was waiting my my industrial PSU from hong kong (ebay) cost me £30 inc delivery

This was after i came back from holiday, got my PSU all hooked up (the new PSU, 350watt 29amps single output)

This is the whole system setup:

All frosty and in the BIOS @ Stock

Last pic, in windows @ stock

Just a couple of questions,

1. My idle temp in windows is around 3 to 4 c, I was expecting someting more like -10. I believe it may be somthing to do with my rad cant cope with the heat output, and the cold plate isnt being cooled down enough. see question 2.

2. My PA 120.3 with 1 fan on max and the other two on 7v is getting blindinly HOT. my 6800GT which is on the same loop (not for long) is at remote = 40 and local is 60c. All readings from speedfan.

3. I know someone will mention milky water , dont worry about it, as its not cauing any problems. I just didnt wash out the rad. its not going to bung up a maze 4 block.

Have you managed to get any more speed out the chip yet or is it still testing :)

nice of you to reply so quickly ;)

just testing temps atm, running @ stock at 1.6v its 4c idle and 14c load (32mb super PI)

will try and clock it later.

edit - thanks for helping with the PSU wiring, i could imagine blowing my self up

I can pick your name out quite easily on the last reply list :p

Mine has been sat happy at 3.0 since removing the IHS + new bios, which is good.

yeah, smeared some "Silicone Dielectric Compound" over the socket and surrounding areas. and got some foam (neoprene) and surrounded the socket.

when i turn the system off the frozen block will melt in about 1second causing a lot of water to drip over the system - havnt figured out how to stop that.

^ sounds a bit disconcerting

think i need some more condensation proofing.

Yeah, the PA120.3 is hot, and the pump is fine too, if the rad is hot then its doing its job well. However the guys over at extreme systems say that my fans should be on 12v not 7v. Although i cant stand the noise.

Just got back from work, Strangest thing is happening, I cant overclock over 2.7Ghz

it was on 2.9Ghz on water. This opteron having a laugh!?!?
Ive checked all the bios settings etc..

edit - temp @ 2.6Ghz 1.6volts at load is 13c

im asking the guy i bought the psu from, as there is a knob to turn. I can only use common sense to make that assumption.

Still, tis a bit pointless to turn the power down... sort of defeats the point.

might try a 3800 x2 later. these anygood under a TEC?
