Went up to Bristol today to buy my new car. Lovely drive, lacks power compared to the 280hp 2.0t FSI I had before it (and drowned) and seems to have an exhaust valve so it sounds nice at idle then no noise then exhaust drone at 3krpm, I need to figure out how to disable that so it makes the nice noise all the time like my 2.0T did. Only 28k miles, one owner, FASH etc. Avus Silver. (Silver with blue mixed in).

I don't have many plans for this other than to enjoy it, fit an arm rest, fit cruise control, eventually I would like some genuine BBS CH's but I have no idea what to do suspension wise when it comes to this and it won't happen for a year or two anyway. I will run it until it hits 60k and then sell it.

I have some basic pics, off an iPhone and not edited in any way, I was dodging traffic to take these so bare with me... includes the dog too. And one of my old car.

Going to take it into Audi next week as the one touch windows work on all but the drivers side

Car is awesome tbh.

Please don't make this a picture critique thread any such posts I will RTM.

Thanks!

Previous car 2.0 tdi 140hp 116k 2003 early dsg, this car 2008, 28k, 8p2 facelift, 1.8t FSI S-Tronic.

Going to fit arm rest myself or find a cheap shop to do it. All you need is the arm rest and bracket and a drill and some special bolts.

Cruise control I am going to pay audi to do circa £225 because it needs coding into the car. Going to use that as an excuse to get the S-Tronic update software which will not have been added because the car has not had its 40k mile big service.

Does anyone know how you control a cd changer with an Audi Symphony ii+?

The Symphony itself has a 6cd changer built into the unit however there is also another audi 6cd changer in the glovebox. AUX seems to be for the iPhone adaptor and not this changer? Thanks.

Yup water pump is on the list of things to look for.

Got multifunction wheel too, oddly pressing up and down goes back/forward and not the other way round... wierd

Oh and fuel economy, 55L tank on these, the 2.0t I struggled to get 180 miles out of a full tank, on this I have used half a tank today and done 190miles and it still says half a tank left, so circa 380miles per tank vs 180miles per tank.

I found the exhaust valve and have a guide to making it open all the time so that is sorted just need to find somewere friendly with a hydraulic car lift to do it as I don't trust axel stands or jacks for that matter.

No idea. It had all the mods for 280hp and this 1.8t is 160hp so it makes sense power wise.

I owned a 1.8t 20v passat with 150hp and this car has 160hp and although the passat is probably slightly heavier, the tfsi is in another league.

Been out in it at 6pm and was driving it on the moors and honestly there is no need for manual gearchanges, the gearbox in D just seems to accurately guess what you are going to do. I actually thought to myself "this is the first time I have had fun driving for years". The 2.0t was so quick with s-tronic that you were always worrying that you were going to fast, and the tdi was...boring. This is just about perfect, honestly I would only need/use any more power for motorway overtaking.

SkodaMart what fuel do you run it on? According to the forums (and my own experience) tfsi engines do a lot better mpg on Tesco Super/Shell V-Power than "normal" petrol.

The 2.0t FSI has one expensive issue over the 1.8t FSI.... high pressure fuel pump needs replacing otherwise you only get full power at high RPM. This costs £400 to modify your own and £800 to buy one from APR etc. 1.8t FSI doesn't have this problem.

I prefer it to the 8P3 tbh...they are all black editions which look a bit common these days.

Looe, yup. I walk my dog there. One of the only beaches I trust to let him off the lead without having to worry about a bigger dog mauling him :/

There is a lot of red in that dash I had a old 8p s3 but really forgot how much since driving the new 8v. Glad your enjoying it mind :)
I know, I could upgrade to 8p3 dials and DIS but for £675 I can think of better things to spend it on..

Some more pictures ere.

Excuse the last 2. Iphone corrupts images that I send to my PC via cable, refuses to send emails and only recieves them, and when I tried to upload them to FB to share it told me it had no signal. So I have to print screen them and I forgot to crop them..
