Thats right i can now clog up the roads with my caravan .....

Muhahahahaha

Its been a up hill struggle to get it though.

failed first test 7 faults 4 on signaling .

Passed 2nd test 1 fault but passed it in a automatic which meant i could only tow with a auto car even though i had a full manual license .i did ask my instructor and he said it was fine .

so license came back ristricted to auto cars rang up my instructor.

Anyways it ended up him paying for another trailer test (£89.00)

and me having to do it in his manual car.

I passed again 4 faults this time.

just waiting to get my license back again .

PHew .

Yep and the test is 1hr and 30 mins long

Thats longer than an Articulated Truck test, iirc.

Price is a bit cheaper though! :D

Isn't reversing trailers great?

Congrats.

I wasn't even aware you needed an extra test to tow a trailer

Not for when the net weight of the car and the towing thing adds to less that a certain ammount.. forgot what it was

3.5 tonnes isn't it?

Correct.

Unless you have a heavy 4x4 and a 26ft caravan, a normal licience (sp) is legally enough.

I have a 1500KG car and a 1300KG caravan, so im fine with a normal licience.

I should be able to take my D1+E test (Gets me B+E by default) for free.

I volunteer as staff at the local Air-cadets Squadron. Just have to wait till I'm 21 then go with them to RAF Leeming next time there is flying and pop in at MT.

3.5 ton (metric) maximum allowable mass of the combination.

Thats your car + Caravan + Max loading allowed in the car + Max loading allowed in the caravan. Although it doesn't seem to say anywhere that you aren't allowed to overload them both.
