Well people, after months of reading, researching, and checking out various build logs i've finally placed my order for my next build.

I have the following winging it's way to me:

Core i5-650 32nm
DFI LP MI P55-T36
4GB Patriot DDR3 (on TWO)
Sapphire HD5770 Vapor-X
Crucial M225 128GB SSD
Sony Optiarc Slimline DVDRW

And it's all going in a Sugo SG05.

I went for the CPU for it's modest power draw and reasonable performance. The HD5770 was picked in the end as I wasn't 100% sure about fitting the HD5850 into the PSU requirements - when the 450W version surfaces I may sell it on MM and upgrade, but that's a bridge i'll cross when I come to it.

As for cooling, well i'm going to initially run it with the horrid Intel stock cooler until the weekend as i'm off to a LAN party later in the week. At that point i'm going to have a go at getting my H5O in there, but if I can't get it installed in a state i'm happy with, i'll be sourcing a Scythe BIG Shuriken or a Thermalright AXP-140.

So er... wish me luck? [Thanksfortheinfo.jpg] ;)

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of price was that lot?

Also, for your info if your using a 2.5" HDD the H50 rad fits underneath the cage once you remove the 3.5" caddy.

One pic for now as I have to clear the mess and install stuff. I'll get some proper ones up tomorrow with a proper camera.

PSU is absolutely fine - the Core i5 is running a smidge over TWENTY degrees stock with the stock cooler. Amazing CPUs.

It is quite possibly the sexiest graphics card I have ever seen.

I can't stop looking at it, it's literally mesmerising.

How quiet is the GFX card? Been looking to replace my 8800GTX which I've got running at 9db using a HR03+ and a coolink 1201.
I really want to keep the noise down.

I've currently got an i7 system housed in an Antec 1200 case but it's too big for the room I have it in now. I already have a Sugo SG05B case so I'm quite interested in how your setup fares. Got a couple of questions for you though:

I have a XFX 5870 card in my current setup but just by having a cursory look I don't think it would fit in the case. Does the Vapor-X play all the latest games?

What's the case like for cooling though as there's only a fan at the front?

Will the case take a bigger PSU if I need to change it?

If I can get the same sort of performance as my i7 then I might go ahead and order the kit.

Thanks for that, just had a look and that sugo setup looks nice.

I assume that you have a socket 1156 Core i7??

It maybe a bit hard to fit an HD5870 in the Sugo SG05 although an HD4890 or HD4870 can fit in it according to this review:

No, I've got a 1366 i7 and Asus P6T Deluxe but I can sell them on and get myself an i5 and board. I do like the look of the vapor-x card though.

Tute,

After much deliberation I'm finally looking at getting the same bits as you. Does the rig work fine with the 300W psu? I do like the card you have but would like to go for a 5850.
