I got a student edition of Win 7 and I'm finally ready since release to install it. I am out of touch with Win 7. Anything I should know before installing or do in a certain way? I want to be able to install it on a fresh HDD and there was some controversy over whether this was possible with the Student version?

Well, back up first obviously. I don't know much about the student edition - I'm assuming it's an upgrade, in which case the following page might be useful to you.

I should have specified, I am currently running on Windows XP Pro 32bit. As below:
Hard drive 1: XP Pro 32bit
Hard drive 2: Targetted drive for install of Windows 7 64 bit
If anyone can tell me the easiest way to get Win 7 64bit on a new HDD that would be great. Do I have to install XP Pro on it first then do an upgrade? Or can I install from scratch?
