Hello all, finally decided to try and get a problem with my mouse sorted out, I'd had my system for a bit over a year now and have had this issue from day one, nothing major but a creature comfort I wouldnt mind having again.
The problem is with the saitek software that allows you to program functions into the mouse, I got my mouse around 2 months before I was able to complete my rig and was using it on my older pc, which ran windows vista 64bit and worked great with my mouse, effectively what I had done was program the thumb scroll wheel, when I was on the blue setting if I scrolled on way I could cycle through the tabs opened in my browser (so ctrl+tab), and if I cycled the opposite direction I could cycle through all the windows I had open in my os (so alt+tab), then if I activated the purple profile scrolling left would lower volume and scrolling right would increase volume.

As can be seen nothing major, when I built my new rig I also upgraded to windows 7 and since then, even though I had (and still have) the software installed, I've been unable to program my mouse, I can load the software, program the key bindings in, save it, activate it, but it just wont work, originally when this happened I took it that it was some form of software issue I'd get around to solving, as I was only using the programmable mouse for about 2 months and it it wasnt as if I couldnt live without it as they were just creature comforts.
I've tried a few times - uninstall software, reinstall etc see if it would help then gave up, decided last month to see if perhaps it wasnt a software isuue and maybe my mouse was faulty, and as I still have my old pc I plugged it in and this time when I program the mouse it works (so I can breathe easy knowing my mouse isnt broke lol).

Anyone encountered the same isuue or have any solutions for me?
MAny thanks in advance and sorry for the extended read :) lol
