Finally sold on watercooling

So after deliberating on water cooling for a few weeks after a botched FX9560 upgrade (RMA'd today), I was in the store and bought a new case and an AIO watercooling solution.

After doing plenty of reading on forums trying to find out how much performance increase I'd get (Megahalems RED -which I thought was decent), most were saying a few degrees here and there. Prior to upgrading I ran the CPU in prime95 with air cooling and then did it with water.

Here was an example of where I was basing my info from (guess it can be taken with a pinch of salt):

After 10 minutes of running, the results are in:

Air:

I honestly didn't think I'd get 15-18C difference!


And now the good part... Let's see how much I can overclock this puppy :D
 
The only problem with watercooling on AMD FX is that the motherboard VRM's don't get any airflow over them from the CPU cooler, so you might get throttling due to VRM temperature without an additional fan over the VRM heatsink (which could actually make overclocking on water worse).
