Finally some help for my Lightning

Got water block on its way today to provide a cooler jacket for my 780, time to see if it can keep up with those pesky 290X's can so far managed around the 1350 mark @ 1.35v with an asic of 63.7 and can use upto 1.45v, so should be good for a little more not even gonna mention the memory, its the one thing that lets these cards down.

Yes you can use the original back plate.
What memory is in yours? If you hover over ddr5 in nvidia inspector it will tell you.

Currently can only get +185 on the mem which is certainly gonna hold it back in some benchmarks

Yeah very, most are hitting the +300 mark, mine is just v.poor, gonna be interesting to see what water brings. Not sure what the vdroop is like on these things when pushing hard. The classy's I had would drop 0.1v at load.

I'd of stuck with one of the classy's.

They were good cards, but needed to free up some cash at the time, and got this ltg at a good price. Both are great cards and the ltg does feel like it will handle more punishhment

At known settings 3d mark is just crashing??? Temps are excellent.

Looks like its the new drivers, gone back to .65 and its now getting through.

How does your card clock at the basic 1.21v nick? Trying to guage what ballpark I should be aiming for on mine once blocked and volted up

About 1280mhz mate.


Hitting a wall now @ 1420mhz @ 1.51v!! Well thats what it shows in AB/gpuz

temps at these volts
pcb 28c
gpu 48c
crap memory 32c
vrm 42c
water temp 25c

got a little more volts yet, but i'm gonna wait till mrs goes to work in the am and get the windows wide open.

nope, and volts make no difference

Unlucky! Thought it would have scaled with the extra voltage.

I already knew my max on air, so i pushed the core up, then once my bravery ran out i tried upping the mem.
The sweetspot on the core felt about 1400, so i may go back to that and try raising the mem from there. Had upto +225 stable at a low core. Few things to try yet.

1400 was achieved with 1.41v so a massive increase in the voltage to get that extra 20hz.
When i get more time i'll have a play with different drivers too.

Still 1420 is very very very fast!!

Scaling may be around the same for me then, just ran a small bench at 1306mhz (over two cards!) 1.21v

It is fast, but that ******* memory is hampering scores big time.

Yeah you should be able to hit 1400 at "safe" volts
