Hi all,

Weighed myself at the beginning of the year and I'm at the absolute heaviest I have ever been. Currently 15st 9lb and looking to shed as much as possible before a holiday at the end of May. I am 5 foot 10 btw.

My diet is atrocious and I never get any excercise. For ages I have been having two bowls of Crunchy Nut a day and a main meal in the evening, usually something rubbish and processed.

This is what I am trying...

10 miles per day cross trainer on hardest setting
100 push ups
100 sit ups

Weetabix and a banana instead of Crunchy Nut and then a main meal of some meat and rice or pasta etc.

I was wondering what else I should be doing?

I have 1 or two coffee's per day and several pints of water at the moment.

When I do the excersises I am having about 2.5 litres more water per day. I don't drink anything else.

Do you think this plan (which I'm currently doing) is a good idea?

If so, how quickly do you think I may see some benefit from this?

Thanks very much,

G

I have weetabix for breakfast and again for lunch and then a meal like pasta in the evening.

I am not bothered about hunger and won't eat anything I don't plan to so hopefully I will lose some :)

I haven't ever really been someone who eats anything when it's not breakfast, lunch or dinner. Never have snacks unless there is some occasion too, like eating some Doritos and drinking a few jars whist watching the footy with my dad etc.

Just checked and I am 15st 5 now.

I struggle with weights because I have arthritis :( my wrists are very painful and would be made worse by lifting :/

I just want to do what I can to lose weight, not looking to get ripped :)

Is cross trainer not good for cardio? Would a treadmill be better? Have one arriving tomorrow :) (the mrs doesn't get on with the cross trainer)

I can do the push ups cause I have a chin up bar thing that you put on the floor so you can grip it and not have to bend your wrists. Without that I can't do them at all because my wrists don't physically bend enough to get my hands flat on the floor :( Bench press would be good for that too if I had the equipment I reckon :)

I considered a diet of smoothies/juices but didn't think I had a juicer.... just found one in the back of one of the kitchen cupboards so I could use that too :)

It is tricky finding chance to get to the gym cause we have three small children and my Mrs works night so I have been trying to think if things I can achieve at home for now :)

May have to see if one of my brothers might be able to lend me some weights to try.

Myfitnesspal looks really good! Quite glad I only drink water and Milk judging by some of the calories in soft drinks and beer!!!
