I am so excited!

Looked at the reviews and some big table seemed to show that'd be the fastest card for my cam

Hopefully it'll work well!

I wanted the 2GB but thought I'd buy it at a later date and keep my dad sweet with the cheaper card

I'd order another card at some point it's dead handy having 2 as you can take one out to transfer to your PC and stick the second in.

and not accidentaly leave your only card in the PC while you travel an hour to take some shots

Congrats! Great camera and good choice on the card. Stop down when possible to around F8 when you can for maximum sharpness on the kit lens.
