Finally..........

......got round to upgrading my PSU.

in the end i opted for the Corsair TX 650W.
I'm currently running the spec in my sig plus an old 7900gt which will very shortly be replaced with an ATI 4870.

One thing i'm toying with is crossfire for the future, i take it this PSU is more than capable of this task?

yes, but get modular because you will have lots of useless cables which take up as much space as the size of the PSU

if you're thinking of crossfiring 2 x 4870's make sure whatever you get has at least 4 x pci-e power connectors.

the TX650 only has two. could i not just use two of the molex's with an adapter?
it's only a thought at the moment as one 4870 should do me perfectly.
