Can someone please have a look at this annual report and tell me what the free-cash-flow is.

The cash flow statement is on page 37. At the bottom of the statement is "Cash and cash equivalents at 27 January 2007 18 £13,513,000" but I think i'm right in saying this is just cash flow, not free cash flow.

I've found 2 equations for free-cash-flow:
FCF= net income + depreciation/amortization - changes in working capital - capital expenditure
which I've calculated as:
FCF = 14,416,000 + 3,981,000 - unknown - 4,921,000

OR

FCF = cash flows - operations - capital expenditure
which I've calculated as:
FCF = 13,513,000 - unkown - 4,921,000

As you can see ther's a couple of unknowns in there, and it's quite possible something else in there is wrong as well. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks very much.

Couldn't you work out what the change in working capital is by looking at the balance sheet on the previous page?

It states what current assets and current liabilities (therefore net current assets) are as at 28 Jan 06 and 27 Jan 07 allowing you to calculate the figure needed in your first equation above.

Isn't FCF net cash from operating activities less net cash from investing activites?

13,916,000 - 4,780,000 = 9,136,000
