Hay all ok about to try my first overclock on a cpu and i was reading the guide on the forums and that core temp program i take only works for dual core cpu

So what program should i use for my p4 2.8 ghz cpu to find out the the max safe temperature ?

Also here a pic i of my temps using speedfan some temps dont look to good lol ( no overclocking yet )

Thanks:)

thanks for that post iv downloaded that software now i was looking for something like this a while back then gave up till i saw this :)

seems pretty accurate to me, tho im getting much lower (but realistic) temps then you are... how long has you pc been on and what are you running or what were you running?, mine has only just been switched on near enough

my temp3 seems to be bugged or sometimes lol, it goes quickly between 3c 20+c 40+c

EDIT: the speed% thing seems to be bugged too, got 5 of them all together had em all upto 100% no changes, then all down to 0%, no changes

Well i was cod4 about 30 min before i took that pic

And ill try another version of core temp maybe newest one stop supporting single core cpu ?

and glad i could help QlimaxUK :D

There isn't a core sensor on the older Pentiums (even the 9xx series don't have them as far as I know) so all you do is download ThrottleWatch and keep cranking it up until it starts to throttle. That's your maximum temperature, and it will be REALLY high - the TCase on these is in excess of 80C which would indicate core temperatures over 100C.
