Hi,
does anyone know of a way to find out what's using my disk space up so much?. It doesn't seem right to me, 320GB hard drive with 65GB used. the only things i have installed are windows vista, dawn of war:dark crusade and crysis. roughly 2GB music/video and that's about all i have put on the hard drive since i built the pc on friday.

Most of these drive scanning programs can't see in the System Volume Information folder which is where the System Restore points go. Those plus your pagefile and the hibernation file will be taking up most of the unaccounted for space.

a program called disk investigator shows the pagfile thing as 4gb, so it must be winsows files like that taking my space.

System Restore will take up 15% of your drive space straight away. Do a search for vssadmin on the forum or google for the command usage to reduce the % it uses. I've posted it before if you want to do the same.
