Hi all,

My sister has asked me to buy her a digital money counter (the same as mine) as part of her Birthday presents. I got mine from www.find-me-a-gift.co.uk (hope it isn't classed as a competitor).

I've just received an e-mail this morning saying if I spend £20+ then I get £10 off. The money counter is £14.99 so basically I am looking for a gift for myself between £5 and £10. I'm thinking something for the office desk when I get a bit bored to pass the time? Was nearly tempted with a Rubik's Cube.

Anyone care to find me anything else?

Thanks.

So you are going to waste £5 to save £5?

If he spends more than £20, he gets £10 off.

His item original cost £14.99, so if the item he purchases costs £5.01, with the discount he'll pay £10 overall, and save £5. If the item he purchases costs £10, it will cancel out with the discount and he'll get the iterm for free. ;)

Your maths is outstanding... spend 5 to save 5... which is what i said!!

But he's not spending anything... he's getting the second item for free, and saving £5 on his original amount.

He's spending 5 to save 10.

He is getting something that he clearly didnt want in the first place, it will be dumped on the desk and forgotten about in a week.
He is purely spending £5 to save £5, yes he gets an extra item, but not something that he wants or needs.

He does not need to spend the £5, so he is purely spending to get £5 off of his other gift.

I'll be spending less or the same depending on the price of the random gift for myself.

If I buy the present for my sister without any extra I don't get the £10 off which means I spend £14.99

If I buy the present and a gift for myself at £5.01 it works out as follows.

£14.99 + £5.01 = £20.00

Then take the £10 voucher off = £10 spent

If I buy the present and a gift for myself at £10 it works out as follows.

£14.99 + £10 = £24.99

Take £10 voucher off = £14.99 spent.

£5 saved or nothing extra spent, both with a gift for myself.
