find me a job

How can we find a job for you?
Firstly we don't even know where you live.
Secondly, stop being lazy, look at the local paper.

(why is Q.F.T starred out?)

Thirdly, the job centre is for people claiming benifits, job seekers allowance is a contract between the dwp and you whilst you pro-actively seek employment.

If you don't want to claim or can't claim benifits (for reason XYZ) they won't help you as they don't have to. But you can still use Direct.gov and the machines in the job centre.

It ****s me off when people whine about there being no jobs; maybe if you stopped whining and being so negative you'd find something. Yes, it might not be in what you want but there are always jobs to be found. I've never been unemployed since I was 17, and bar my first interview at 16 that I messed up through inexperience, I have never had an interview that wasn't followed up with a job offer.

It's all about how you come across, if you're a whiny inconfident kid with no intersocial skills then yes, you will struggle in all aspects of life be it getting a job to women and even getting served at a busy bar. Put yourself out there properly, if you want to get a job and believe you can do something and offer the company more than they currently have, you will get it. Also, I've only ever had one of my jobs through "official" channels, others have been from putting myself into the right place and asking about jobs that dont even exist yet, even if it's going into a shop and speaking to the manager directly, or asking around for people that already work places.

I have no doubt that if I was left unemployed tomorrow I would be able to get a job in <2 weeks; not necessarily a good job (although it's not unlikely that it will be), but a job, and I have no qualifications beyond GCSE.

I can see it in my extended social circle, the only people who can't get jobs are the people that are socially retarded and think the world owes them. If I was recruiting I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole either. It's not there are no jobs out there, it's you're unemployable as you come across, fix this and you'll get a job and you can move up from there.

PS This isn't directed at anyone, just the general "OMG THE WORLD IS SO UNFAIR" bunch that think there are really no jobs out there, and are using the recession as an excuse for their patheticness. Either way it's probably a good idea to get my flameproof suit on ;)

Well if you were actually up to date with the number of unemployed numbers and the jobs available, you would see that it is IMPOSSIBLE for everyone who is unemployed to get a job simply because there are not 2.5 million jobs available as of today in the UK.

Next time before you make an argument get your facts straight.

Wow how ignorant is that. Way to insult everyone who is struggling to find a job, no wonder they struggle if the employers have your attitude.

I admire your skills of finding work well but just because your good at it doesn't mean you can criticize who aren't so gifted.

You should have stayed on and did a Higher National Dipoma in IT System Support, that's what i did.

I knew that the National Diploma wouldn't get me a job, so i stayed at College for another 2 years and did the HND which opens up way more jobs then the National Diploma does, and if i wanted to go to Uni to do a course in IT, i can skip the first year (possibly 2nd) due to having the HND.

If you can, get a part-time job and go back to College and get that qualification. After i got it, it was looking for 2 months and found a £16,500 job doing 1st/2nd line support work - i was way out of my depth and my manager knew that be he said i came across eager and enthusiastic which goes a long way in interviews.

I stayed there for a 18 months then got promoted to Desktop Support Engineer and moved to their London office building servers and getting well paid £23,000 which isn't bad considering i'd only been working for 18 months.

There are plenty of Desktop Support jobs up and down the country, so saying that there isn't any just shows that you're not looking hard enough.

Look at cwjobs, reed, monster etc.. and search for technical support and you'll see loads of the buggers.

Well I was signed on to do HND but at the end of 3 years in college I was tired and needed a break for a couple of years. So I took a break and went for job hunting, which I knew would be hard. So now I am working in a factory for min wage and now the useless government decided to screw students further by increasing the tuition fees by 300%.

So now If I want to go back to higher education, I will most likely have to pay 6k+ if not 9k per year for a degree. Degree lasts 3 years so we are talking 20k+ just for a course and not including anything else, like living accumulation.

In fact if I do go to higher education, within three years I could be 60-70k+ worse off as a result. I would lose my full time income since I would not be able to work full time which would add up to something like 40k in three years time. So 40k + 20k for a degree which already adds to 60k in three years. Not to mention I am not including living accumulation.

Higher education makes no financial sense any more really.
