Morning all!

I've been looking tirelessly for a few days for a new keyboard then came to the realisation that I'm not entirely sure what makes a good board etc...so would like some help finding a keyboard to suit me, currently have a razer lycosa though keys are worn out badly around the wasd cluster so time for a new board!

Essentials I need:

Back lit keys, often play in low light so is a must.

Built in usb hub and 3.5mm jacks, to have my mouse, controller and headphones plugged into.

Added bonus would be slim cap keys though not overly essential.

Not too bothered about mechanical or not, if mechanical the keys must be relatively quiet, I had a cherry brown keyboard earlier in the year and it sounded like hail on a tin roof!

No set in stone budget so its flexible for the right board.

Cheers! :D

Red swithes relatively quiet?

Slim key caps isn't a must, but outside of the arctosa/lycosa all other boards I've looked at have chiclet caps (deathstalker being one) which from what I can see are more like laptop keys rather then just low profile caps.

What's the major difference between the mk80 & 85?

From what I've read today, reds are the quietest and also the best for gaming and if I find them too noisy I can add dampener orings to the caps :)

think the difference is just the 85 has macro keys, and orange backlight.. i've got the 80 with brown keys.

Oh my word, how did I ever not use cherry reds before? I never thought a keyboard would be worth £110, but, yes, yes it is.

The only loud key on the red mk85 appears to be the space bar, so I'll get dampeners for that.

It absolutely oozes quality too, very happy with my purchase, especially at the price I paid ;)
