Finding a motherboard type

Is there any way to find a motherboard make and model using software, as opposed to physically opening it up and reading reference numbers?

I'm trying to find out what kit someone has over the phone so I can't open their PC up and poke about inside.

Haha, I've had CPU-Z installed for ages and never noticed it has a 'mainboard' tab
