Finding a phone number in the UK.

On a US forum I belong to one of the members is asking for help finding a lost phone number for his Uncle that lives in Colchester.

Is there an available source anyone could point him to?

If you can get his name you could call directory enquiries for him. 118 whatever, most known is 118118

Colchester is a town, not a city. I think the population is around 115,000 these days so it's a decent size.
