I have an MSI GX660R laptop. It's a few years old but in pretty good condition.

However, the power socket on the back of the laptop has come loose so power from the mains frequently cuts out and the battery no longer holds a charge.

I think it just needs re-soldering but I don't have the tools or the knowledge to do it myself.

How/where can I find a reliable computer repair company? There's an internet cafe nearby that claims to do repairs but it looks a bit dodgy. I'm worried that they might botch it or maybe even steal my data or install some malicious software. Am I just being paranoid?

You can remove the drive before taking it to them, if you're worried. There are vids on youtube showing how to do so, for various types of laptops. Just take your time and do it carefully.
