Hi guys, very long time reader, new poster :P

Over the last month or so ive been looking to SLI my current rig that i build last christmas.

AMD X2 6000+
Asus M2n32 SLI deluxe Edition
2GB OcZ Sli ram
750 Tough power Thermaltech PSU

BFG 8800 GTS 640Mb

Currently im using XP sp3, cause i notice a major drop in FPS when im playing WoW on vista. WoW is the only game i play on my pc, its mainly used for Autocad ect when im not playing WoW.

I want to increase my FPS for the new expansion, after playing the beta it is
a lot more graphical demanding, so im looking to;

Add another 2GB of Ocz ram
add another 300gb Hard drive
and SLI my current Graphics card.
Install Vista 64bit

Now my only problem is finding another BFG 8800 640mb card
ive checked ebay a few times, but id rather go through OCUK
or anther dedicated online retailer.

And lastly will i notice much of a difference in FPS if i do SLI for WoW?

Cheers guys

Chris

Yep I'd wager it's that AMD that's holding you back in WoW, unless you are running a very high resolution with lots of AA.

In terms of minimum framerate you'll likely see more gain from overclocking your CPU than going SLI.

So would i be better to Upgrade my CPU and More ram than SLI'ing my card.

My resolution is 1440x900 - not the most demanding tho i do have all the settings in game
maxxed out

What CPU would be good for my board?

Get a cheap P35 and a budget Wolfdale like an E7x00 or so and clock it. Will give you the biggest performance boost out of all the options mentioned, and probably won't set you back as much as you think.

If it's to play WoW, please don't get a new motherboard and CPU, your AMD is hardly slow. It's not a Core2 but it's also not a single core Sempron @ 1.6ghz with 128k L2...
It will run WoW fine.

The memory upgrade is the way forward, the advice to part with your 8800 and put the cash towards a 4850 is also a good idea.

Have you clocked the AMD at all? It's still a great motherboard that you've got and definately worth looking into.
