Finding Comet C2014 E2-Jacques - help please.

Hello - photo with my 17-55mm / 7D. (30 sec exposure) After sky at night I have been looking for this comet but cannot find it (or identify Cassiopeia ("W-shape"), where it is supposed to be near).
New to this game. Where should I look please. What lens (longest I have is 300mm) and how long an exposure? Thanks, Mel

This says "At dusk, it will become visible at around 21:40 (BST), 28° above your north-eastern horizon"

I think I have been looking too high - I don't think that I can see that low down from my house because of trees.
