Finding CPU batch/variant number??

Evening all.

I'm going break my overclocking cherry and put some extra oomph into my i7 930.

But before I start, I note that some batch numbers overclock better than others, so wanted to give myself an idea of what I might achieve.

However, I can't find the box for the CPU, so can only assume I've dumped it somewhere along the line.

Is there a way to find out the batch number, other than detaching my H50 block, cleaning off the thermal paste and reading it off there! (Which I have no intention of doing).

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

Box or the cpu's ihs are the only ways you can find your batch no. But tbh, 4.0ghz is practically a given on theese chips with good cooling.
