Am looking for our next house move to buy a piece of land and build our own, I'd be silly not to really being 'in the business'.

Any tips to find some? any sites to search?

Build It magazine has a online database, also the Build Store at Swindon

Also have a look at local auctions for property auctions, reprocessed, land, empties. derelicts, etc.

You see bungalows on large plots often come up & peeps buy them, then demolished & build a house.

Gives you some ideas.

If you're serious, or even just semi-serious, this book is worth it's weight in gold.

edit - don't write it off just because you're 'in the business'. It covers everything from finding the right plot of land, to legal issues and a lot more, as well as obviously covering the actual 'build' process. It really is an excellent book.
