Finding old pension info

@Diddums did you get anywhere with this? My wife just got an email from Aegon about a pension with around £350 in it, debating whether it's worth the hassle of transferring it to her main pension or if the costs make it pointless.

I was thinking about transferring some old pensions into PensionBee last year then I started reading that they charge fees etc every year. My thinking then leads me to think that I'll have no pension left by time I retire after all these yearly fees have been taken out. Where as if I leave them in the old employer schemes they are costing me nothing? It's all a minefield.

I thought all pension providers charged fees. I'm sure my workplace Scottish Widows one does. The hope/expectation is that growth of the assets covers it.

It is indeed.

And PensionBee's biggest marketing gimmick is solving the problem that most have lived with for decades (visibility of lots of different schemes) rather than the merits of consolidating to an app based pension provider (aka putting all your eggs in one basket :p).

For anyone considering this... really, make sure you do your homework...

Yep, and when I got a letter from one of my old employer schemes they said my pension pot value would be less if I transferred it to PensionBee. That was when I decided not to bother with the transfer and left it where it was.
