Hello chaps,
Wondering if anyone can recommend some fine mesh filter for the intake on my PC cabinet. Just a roll / piece of mesh, don't need borders, magnets etc

I can't find anything I know will work well, and I can't afford to buy a few in the hopes one is suitable. Ideally:
  • CHEAP! Less than a fiver inc. ideally
  • Decent filtration, not mega restrictive
  • 46.5cm x 18.5cm minimum
  • Any material; Plastic, fabric, metal etc
  • White. Can live with bear metal
  • Long lead times fine
Would really, really appreciate any links on this chaps!

OCUK sells a very limited range, so I don't believe links will break any forum rules. If you're unsure, feel free to PM me!

Pair of tights? No joke btw - used them before for dust filters.

Found some one Amazon which looked good, delivery was May! Mrs is going to see if she has any.

That's for the suggestions!

EDIT: found some that arrive much sooner. I can't believe this but, would you recommend a specific denier? :D

Well, I bought some tights :D

I'll get on with finishing the assembly of the frame. I suppose if they're a little fine I can double up.

@Thekwango I'm planning on fixing them in place with dabs of super glue and activator. How did you do yours?

Sellotape - looked awful from inside the case but fine outside. just check first that the super glue doesn’t just melt through them!

Sadly no. Just used whatever the wife had spare and by spare I mean what she didn’t notice missing!!

Thanks mate. Spent about £2.50 which is fine, got the largest size I could so should be able to double up if needed.

I have 3x140mm mounted on the door. I've built a wooden frame, with reliefs cut for the mounting screws or the fan grill.

I'm going to screw it together, fill and sand it, and then use magnets (already have a bunch) to secure the frame in place; makes it easy to remove for cleaning.

I'll do a spot test with the superglue and make sure they don't disintegrate, and I'll resort to the patented kwango sellotape method if necessary :D

Only tights the Mrs has won't offer much in the way of filtering performance ;)
