hi all

I've got a basic OC working stable on my i5 2500k, 4.3 @ 1.26v on a gigabyte z77x d3h.
4.4 was doable at 1.3+ but was getting a bit toasty, so i dialled it back down.

Voltage set to manual at 1.255 or 1.26 - LLC to high, voltage response to fast.

are there any other settings worth trying with that may help get 4.4 or above without higher voltages, or alternatively to save some power when not gaming. I did try the offset mode but the board thinks the chip needs 1.38 or so to run at 4.3 and wont boot with a the -.8 offset needed to keep the peak voltage down.

The chip has had a decent innings at nearly 3 years, but i'd like to avoid borking it just for the sake of it.

Peak temps got to 75c after a few hours of prime, is this high for a 'decent' cooler @ 1.26?

cooler is a thermolab baram, with prolimatech compound & noctula 120mm fan running with the blue resistor (7v)? i'd try a re-seat but the cooler has a horrible fitting system.

yeah, tried an offset of -0.8 to get a decent peak voltage but it would not boot. Unless there is a way of setting a voltage floor for idle?
