Fingerprint Powder Damage?

Has anyone here ever had their laptop stolen and then returned by the police, but its covered in Fingerprint Powder? Mine is and although I was told by police it might damage the laptop, mine won't even charge. Any suggestions?

Is it not more likely that the damage is done not by the police who recovered it, but by the people who stole it in the first place?

Dunno about damage but its the biggest pain in the ass ever to actually remove

THere is no physical damage to the laptop, it just wont power up.

Tried leaving it on charge for a while? If it's not been used for a long period and has been stored somewhere cold then the battery is probably discharged. Remove the battery and try the laptop on mains only, if that works then leave it for 30-40 minutes on charge and hope the battery comes back to life.

Does not boot up even with just the mains (battery out).

Just a suggestion.... but have you checked to see if they have stripped the innards out an sold them on?....

They use aluminium in the fingerprint powder which may have killed your laptop.
