I was going to ask is there any reason my wolfdale 3ghz stock idles at around 42-45 but it seems theres a few odd ones that do?

The tuniq tower has a 3 pin plug and the P35-DS3R is 4pin for the CPU FAN, I understand that the 3 pin can still be fitted so I have done that. The problem is under my bios it reports the CPU FAN at 0RPM where as if I install it into the PWR FAN plug I get accurate readings.

Also what kind of 3d mark scores should I reach with this? Its the 3ghz wolf,8800GT,2gb ram blahblahblah I got around 11100 yesterday on 06 is this about right?

** edit **

also why is it Core Temp reads my temps at 44/44 and bios was about 20? Both coretemp and cpu-z report my cpu at different speeds.

Coretemp = 2666
cpu-z = 2000 :/

Are you sure the fan is actually running? If the temps are low enough the fan won't spin as your motherboard monitors the CPU temp and changes fan speed accordingly.

Looks about right. Maybe a little low but nothing too much to worry about.

Coretemp will report it accurately. I think it depends on what value for Tjunction they use to measure the chip against. Believe the coretemp ones in my experience.

Its hard to tell if the CPU fan is running anyway as its pretty damn quiet most of the time. I have just turned it up full whack with the dial and cant hear it going :confused: I could hear it yesterday when it was on the PWR FAN connection though.
