I've just installed linux on a dual Xeon machine with HT enabled.

When running finstall to setup the FAH clients it defaults to setting up 4 clients, due to 4 cpus being detected. is there a flag that can limit it to setting up just 2?

I'm not bothered if it sets up 4 but i only want it to run 2 and also to install them as a service.

Sorry I'm a total Linux/finstall noob - though could you try turning off HT just for when you run finstall?
If that's completely absurd then just ignore me and someone like Billy should be along shortly with a decent answer :p

AFAIK it just starts one client with four threads for it.

You need to manually add another client if you want two.

System Monitor will show eight threads, but only two fah5 cores.

*tho I could be very wrong*

Actually, I'd do it this way myself. :-)

I seem to recall in the documentation that you could force a number of clients but I think it'd be a heck of a lot easier to disable HT, install, then re-enable it.
