Fire TV work with 2nd hand remote?

Hi all,

Fire tv remote went through the wash and now doesnt work, want a new one and Amazon don't seem to sell them.....is there any reason a second hand one from auction won't work?

I believe these remoted have IR and 2.4GHz of some kind. So the IR I'd expect to just work, and then you'd need to pair the new remote.

Make sure you get the right model/year if possible as they do revise the FireTV remotes.

Yep just needs pairing, I bought a knock off Chinese copy to replace the one in my daughters room a while back and it worked fine once paired.

Might as well just buy a whole new stick though if the prices are anything like they were when I looked.

How many remotes do you have on your coffee table? Is it a stack?

If it is maybe buy learning programmable remote?
