Didnt they show the episodes in the wrong order, and at the same time as another very popular show, so it went unnoticed.

Despite the poor viewing ratings I would have thought that DVD sales would have been proof that there is more than enough demand for a second series, or at least another movie (even just a straight to DVD movie).

Well he may have take the concept from Roddenberry, but he did it a fudge-load better. That's for sure.
