Firefox 1.5.0.7 final

Any idea if the memory leak problem associated with Firefox browsers has been cleared up?

I'd love to go back to it, but the trouble is I leave around 20 tabs open at once, and I don't wanna wake up to a buggered system every morning.

Give Firefox 2 beta 2 a try mate it seems to release the memory a lot better and not had any stability problems.

Thunderbird 1.5.0.7 should get released simultaneously (or soon after) too, for what it's worth.

The thing is it isn't a single bug - it's millions of different things that leak memory all over the place. Some have been fixed between 1.5 release and 1.5.0.7, you should see a load fixed going 1.5 -> 2.0, and there have been a load more fixed for 3.0.
Though, unless you're running hundreds of extensions or you've only got 256MB of RAM, you shouldn't see a "buggered system" anyway.

This is a good read on memory leakage in Firefox.

This is a list of bugs that were resolved fixed for 1.5.0.7 (including Thunderbird), though I'd be inclined to hang fire till it's been officially announced or automatic update catches it - there's nothing that urgent, and it means a smaller download...

Better off grabbing the latest nightly build, with what theme changes have been made since b2, or wait till the 19th for RC1.
